How GPC Turned Warehouse Guesswork Into Real-Time Performance Visibility

LTC built a custom ERP-integrated web application that put live productivity data on the warehouse floor — and gave management the visibility to optimize staffing, throughput, and accountability across multiple distribution centers.

The Client

GPC — Gillette Pepsi Companies

GPC is a family-owned independent beverage distributor rooted in the Upper Midwest, tracing its origins to 1937. Operating multiple distribution centers across Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa, GPC distributes Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Dr Pepper, energy drinks, and a wide range of ready-to-drink beverages across the region.

Despite decades of operational excellence, GPC faced a challenge familiar to any high-volume distribution business: without centralized performance tracking, throughput benchmarks were difficult to maintain — and nearly impossible to optimize in real time.

The Challenge

No Real-Time Visibility Into Warehouse Performance

GPC's warehouse operations ran on manual reporting cycles. Individual case picking rates, team-level performance trends, and staffing efficiency data all existed somewhere — but never in one place, never live, and never visible on the warehouse floor where the work was actually happening.

The result: operational bottlenecks were identified after the fact. Staffing decisions were made on yesterday's data. Accountability was harder to maintain without transparent, real-time benchmarks that both floor staff and management could see and act on.

No centralized tracking of individual or team picking rates

Reporting delays between floor activity and management visibility

Throughput benchmarks difficult to maintain without live data

Staffing forecasts based on incomplete operational data

The Solution

A Custom ERP-Integrated Performance Platform

LTC Software Solutions designed and deployed a custom web application built on Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, and Azure cloud infrastructure — pulling live data directly from GPC's ERP and surfacing it in real time, exactly where it needed to be seen.

Real-Time Dashboards

Live case-per-hour tracking for individual and team performance, pulling directly from ERP data with automated refresh cycles.

85" Digital Leaderboards

Large-format displays mounted on the warehouse floor giving production staff live visibility into their own performance benchmarks.

ERP Data Synchronization

Direct integration with GPC's existing ERP. No manual exports, no reporting delays — data flows automatically and stays accurate.

Azure Cloud Infrastructure

Centralized, secure, scalable hosting that supports management access from any device and scales across multiple distribution centers.

The Results

Measurable Productivity Gains From Day One

Following implementation, GPC saw immediate and measurable improvements across warehouse performance. The combination of real-time visibility and floor-level accountability created a shift in how teams approached their work.

Six employees simultaneously exceeded 200+ cases per hour

Increased overall warehouse throughput

Faster identification and resolution of operational bottlenecks

More accurate staffing forecasts based on live performance data

Improved accountability and transparency across the warehouse floor

Scalable cloud infrastructure ready to support multi-location growth
