An engineering services firm that has been in business since 1985 and employees over 120 individuals at 2 separate locations.

The Challenge

The company was recruiting applicants through various media channels – both offline and online. Applications were flowing in from different avenues with no organization. Human resource employees doing the hiring wanted a more streamlined process for posting positions, organizing applicant information, and informing applicants regarding their status.

 

The Solution

The company challenged our developers to create an online job board that could be linked from various job posting platforms. The interface was to be sleek, modern, and easy to use to attract and encourage job seekers to submit an application. After just 3 months of development, Job Board was launched with success both in increasing applications and organizing their information internally to make a hiring decision.

What is Job Board?

Job Board is a proprietary human resources system that connects people with job opportunities. Potential applications can view and filter available jobs, quickly and easily submit and application, and are kept informed throughout the application and hiring process via automated emails. Internally, human resource personnel can view all application information, sort based on credentials and documentation, and update applicant hiring statuses.

Features

  • Job Posting: Job Board allows human resources personnel and business owners to quickly and easily post positions across the company’s multiple locations. All open positions are able to be scheduled and posted immediately and the link can be used across job-hiring platforms for applicants to access, sort and filter, and view the entire job descriptions.

  • Applicant Profile: New applicants are encouraged to set up a user profile and apply for a current job posting. Setting up a new user profile takes less than a minute, encouraging an increase in applicant interest.

Once a user has completed a profile, they are allowed to apply for jobs and after applying, can see current job status. Applicants can also upload a copy letter and resume, which will be saved for potential future applications.

  • Email Automation: During account setup and after the application is received, an email is automatically generated to the applicant. This reduces the contact on the part of human resources and ensures the applicant is kept informed of their application status.
  • ERP Integration: The online Job Board was developed to integrate completely with the company’s internal Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. This eliminates the need for manual data entry of applicants and allows the job hiring process to be automated on both the frontend (applicant-side) and backend (HR side).

The Outcome

Job Board has been in use since September 2018. So far, multiple positions have been posted, applied, and hired. With the company’s continued growth, this system will become even more important with the addition of opportunities, locations, and personnel.
